(feedback from a company social club trip to uStrike - buffet party)"The comments I received were........
- Just what Newtown needed
- It'll be great to bring the kids
- It is a very professional looking venue
- The buffet was great - good variety
- Friendly atmosphere
- Good value for money for the bowling and the bar
Everyone had a great time and most of them talked about coming back with someone else in the future and organising parties etc.
Thank you for a fantastic evening it was brilliant"
Derek Hughes, July 30, 2008
(feedback from an office party at uStrike)"...To be honest, before we arrived we did have reservations about what to expect from a ten-pin bowling facility in a small town like Newtown.
However, those reservations were quickly dispelled and we found the service provided and the bowling facility itself really good. Not being very experienced bowlers (most of us anyway) we felt much more at ease than we would have at a larger facility with big crowds and noise. It suited us well and everyone who came enjoyed it and we're already talking about when we can visit again.
Thanks again for your hospitality...It made the night really enjoyable."
Cllr Richard White, Newtown, July 01, 2008
"Thank you very much for inviting me to the opening of the tenpin bowling centre last Friday. I enjoyed the evening very much and wish you every success."
Lembit Opik MP, Newtown, June 27, 2008
(comments taken from Lembit's interview with Radio Maldwyn at uStrike's grand opening)"This bowling alley could not have come at a better time for Newtown. Many of us have been campaigning about this for many years, but it took Mrs Tharan and her team to make it a reality.
We've got four lanes now, I bet you they'll be packed out all the time. Fortunately there's space for expansion, so a big 'thumbs up' for Mrs Tharan, and uStrike is going to be a great strike for Newtown...
...Everyone in Newtown's been talking about having a bowling alley for years. In actual fact, if you look at the number of peope who go across to Shrewsbury at the weekends just to do bowling you'll see how many people are really quite serious about it.
Now bowling's come to Newtown and it's been a need for some time. This will be a social focal point for old and young alike, so there's no down side, and I'm personally absolutely delighted that we've got something as good as this right here on our doorstep."
Paul Martin, Newtown, June 05, 2008
(The Forest Country Guest House & Cottages)"Hi
I just wanted to wish you every success with your ten pin bowling. It will be a great asset to Newtown. We have just opened our guest house so we know how much work there is in setting up a business.
I have added a link to uStrike on my website.
All the best"
Cllr Russell George, Newtown, May 28, 2008
(comments taken from Russell George's blog, section "Newtown strikes it lucky")"I would like to offer my congratulations to Devika and Muralee Tharan, who recently opened the area's first ten-pin bowling alley, uStrike. I went along on Friday night with a few friends. I had seen it described as a 'four-lane state-of-the-art bowling alley' and I would say that’s what it is! Really well furnished, no expense spared and professional service...
...It is great news that the town has now got this facility. I don’t know Devika and Muralee Tharan, but they have obviously taken a risk in this venture and I just hope that the all those who have called for more facilities will support this business.
I came last in our match so will definately be going back again to improve my technique!"
Julia Gorman, April 06, 2008
"Hi Just a quick email to say, my family and I came to your bowling alley yesterday, and we were very impressed with the place and the service. And its great your encouraging the very little ones to play too, our two year old loved it.
Thanks, and Im sure you will be seeing lots of us in the future."
